About

I refuse to refer to myself in the third person so this will not be a very professional biography. My life is fairly simple really. I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. I went to Bible college and got married, had three little girls, and I have three cars — well two and a half, see that was pretty easy.

Ok then here is some more, shortly after I got married I took a job at church as the sound engineer. I worked some long hours but loved the job. I have not been professionally trained or been to school for sound engineering, so in no way am I a professional. However, I have had a lot of trial and error experience. I guess that brings me full circle to the point of this blog, I don’t know all the technical jargon but I do believe that I have the ability to help the average person become a better sound engineer by explaining how things practically work. I invite you to participate in this blog often.

Here’s a little bit about this blog. My focus has always been the small church on a small budget, but by all means everyone is welcome. Recently, I have been overwhelmed with requests and emails for advice about purchasing equipment, fixing equipment, and just generally how to make the sound in worship better. The goal is to provide a place to ask questions and learn from me, while I learn from you. Whenever I can I am more than happy to consult small churches about their sound systems and even do some training with their sound engineers, if this is something you are interested in contact me through the blog or at the contact information below. Finally that being said, I often do consulting with very little charge to most places, however, I will become an affiliate with Musicians Friend. If you are going to buy gear anyway, and I have been helpful to you, it would be helpful to me if you would consider clicking through my links to purchase your gear. So I am not misleading, I would get a small commission. If you would be willing to buy just the small things like drum heads, drum sticks, and guitar/bass strings it would help me maintain this site. There is no pressure, so feel free to blog with me regardless.

Well, this is a little about me and the purpose of the blog, below is the contact information.

Blessings,

Darin
